Natural Beauty: 2-Ingredient Body Scrub

If you haven’t already, take a look at the other posts in this series so far: Introduction, Homemade Lip Balm, Sea Salt Hair Spray. I hope that you are having fun experimenting with your own natural beauty products.

Today’s post is probably the easiest product I made while trying these out: 2 Ingredient Body Scrub. It took me mere seconds to make, which is great because I seem to get through it a little more quickly than the other products!

One thing I have noticed with natural beauty products is that a little really does go a long way, not just in terms of the ingredients used, but the products themselves. While that might be true of this one compared to more conventional products, it is less so than the lip balm and lotion (coming soon) that I have made.

Still, coconut oil does make products stretch further, as it is such a wonderfully intense moisturizer that you can get by with little!

However much you may find you need of this, it is a wonderful product that leaves your skin incredibly soft. And although the almond extract is optional, I would recommend using some if you have it on hand, as the smell when you use it is heavenly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Since paring down my bathroom cabinet, I have not really used anything like body scrubs, etc, so it felt quite luxurious to have this to reach for in the shower, and I will definitely be making more to use again!

2 Ingredient Body Scrub

From Fitting It All In

1/2 cup coconut oil

3/4 cup sugar (preferably granulated, but I just used caster sugar and it worked well, so whatever you have on hand is fine)

1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)

1. Melt the coconut oil (in a microwave/pan).

2. Add sugar, and almond extract if using.

3. Mix well.

4. Use.

It’s that simple! Being made of mostly coconut oil, mine hardened overnight in my cabinet, but I found that between the steam from a hot shower and my hands, it quickly melted again and was easy to use. ๐Ÿ™‚ The effects were immediately evident – one use and my skin was already amazingly soft!
