For the Weary

02/26/16 | Faith

For those with aching bodies, minds and hearts.

For the bone-tired, the stressed, the restless.

For the parents, the teachers, the doctors, the overworked and under-appreciated.

For those dealing with sickness and grief – their own, or someone else’s.

For those who have little ones clinging to their trouser legs, shouting for attention, refusing to be put down.

For those who have lost hope, who feel there is little to look forward to.

For those who are overburdened.

For those who find it hard impossible to say no.

For those who feel the word “tired” doesn’t cover it anymore.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

May God breathe new life into you.

May you find the humility to lay your burdens at His feet, trusting that He will help.

May you find hope, even when all seems lost.

May you find rest for your bodies, and for your souls.

May you see the bigger picture, the longer term, the good that will come from this perseverance.

May you hear often that you are doing a really good job, and that you should be proud.

May you seek help and find the courage to accept it when it is offered.

May you know that this, too, shall pass.

“Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28
