After a much needed break from the blog this summer while I focused on moving to a new house and new job and enjoyed some holiday time with my family, I have found it a bit difficult to get back into regular writing on the blog. This is something I would very much like to change.
So, after seeing it in action on many blogs I love to read over the years, I have decided to finally take the dive myself and take part in the “31 Days” series, in which you commit to writing something (whether short, long, funny, sad, thought-provoking, silly, random, themed…) every day during October.
I considered having my own 31 Days series, but have decided not to run before I can walk, particularly as baby #2’s due date in November looms closer and closer while my 14-month-old runs rings around me all day.
So I have settled on taking part in Kate Motaung’s “31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes” this October. It makes the most sense to me as I already take part most weeks in the Five Minute Friday link up, and my FMF posts actually make up a large portion of this blog! So every day in October, I will take the prompt given by Kate and write for five minutes straight before stopping and publishing, without editing what I have written. I am hoping it will inspire me creatively in my writing once more, and hopefully might even inspire some of you, too!
If you are a blog writer and want to take part alongside me, check out Kate’s summary here, which includes the prompts as shown above (for those days when you may know ahead of time that you will need to prep and schedule a post due to busy plans) other than the usual Friday ones.
See you on the other side! 😉
