A Good Friday post:
I have been very grateful for sunshine on many of these posts, but I have been reminded recently that I am also grateful for mist, whose solemn beauty assures me that sometimes, it is worth being in the darker places, unable to see too far ahead. Because sometimes the things you take for granted take on new beauty and grace.
So on this Good Friday, when we remember the amazing sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, I thank God for not giving in to my constant demands to know what is coming next in my life, and take a moment to appreciate the mist of the here-and-now, knowing that colours shine brighter when even the smallest beam of light breaks through the darkness.
